Megan Ashworth, LBSW

My name is Megan Ashworth, LBSW (Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker).  As long as I can remember I have wanted to help others, as a child I was often standing up for other kids that needed it and have had a strong desire in my soul to be of genuine help to others.  That desire led me into Social Work.  Once I started a commitment to my own transformation, the courage to follow my heart ensued and resulted in starting something of my own where the privilege of helping a wider breadth of those in need would open. Additionally, I would not be limited to the approaches used to individualize care options and that is where my business Genuine Authenticity was born.

In my early professional Social Work career I worked with Plano ISD students attending an alternative school, as well as homeless youth in a transitional living program.  I helped students to overcome a variety of obstacles and realize their maximum potential, as well as collaboratively worked with their families on goal setting using specific and clear objectives in an effort to help them resolve their own unique struggles.  During those experiences I integrated the importance of setting clear goals, clear communication, follow up and engagement. In my later career I worked for a home care company and provided a continuum of care for our elderly clients starting from the assessment and onto the care plan, while overseeing that they were properly provided for at the highest potential.  It was then that I realized I have a strong desire to advocate for and empower our senior population in addition to children/teens and families.
